Residents of Gorgona enjoy convenient access to Panama City which is a 45 minute drive, El Valle which is an hour away, and the Altos del Maria mountain community which is also one hour’s drive. The climate in Gorgona Panama generally tends to get less rain than other regions because it lies in the “dry belt”. The best time of the year for surfing in Gorgona is from May to September.
Gorgona Panama real estate has seen a substantial uptick in development in the last few years as several high profile builders have either started or completed projects. Some of the most well known real estate projects in Gorgona Panama are Bahia, Playa Serena, The Biltmore, and the new Ocean Waves project by Pacific Hills Developers.
Beachfront homes in Gorgona tend to be substantially lower priced than neighboring beach homes in Panama, because for the most part Gorgona has always been a Panamanian vacation area. Recently though, Gorgona Panama has developed into a very expat friendly beach community and many of the beach condos are occupied either full or part time by residents from the United States, Canada, and Europe.
Gorgona Panama real estate prices for beach condos tend to be slightly lower than the surrounding areas, generally running from $1,700 – $2,100 per square meter for a new oceanfront condo. Beachfront homes and beachfront land in Gorgona is much less expensive when compared to places like Vista Mar, Coronado, and Buenaventura.
