By in Blog with 0 Comments

Jaime Ford, Minister of Public Works, announced on Wednesday that the new four-lane highway connecting Divisa with Las Tablas will be completely open by the end of October.  Mr. Ford reports that the work is already 90% complete and that all issues with property owners along the route who needed to be compensated for loss of land due to the widened road have been resolved.

The new highway will feature overpasses at the intersection of the Chitre bypass road by the Banco Nacional and at the entrance to the tow of Arena, just north of Chitre.  “We can live without the overpasses, but they are very important to maintain smooth use of the bypass.

In other news, Air Panama has announced it will begin flying from Albrook Airport in Panama City to Pedasi three times a week beginning October 18th, 2013.  The cost of tickets is estimated to be $90 each way.
