Pedasi’s Emerging Hotel Scene

By in Blog with 0 Comments

One of Panama’s most promising tourism regions is the Azuero Peninsula, which, shaped like a large cone, is home to a growing number of hotels. As we have mentioned in the past, one of the Peninsula’s hottest zones is Pedasi where available rooms have more than quadrupled in the past 5 years.

Known primarily for its surfing allure, the region of Pedasi has seen most development in Los Destiladeros, Playa Venao, and Pedasi proper where hotels now range from $11/night hostels to 12-bedroom villas running more than $1,500/night. Pedasi’s surf events such as the World Surf Championships (2011) and junior version of the same event (2012) are perfect examples of authentic tourism events paying compliment to Panama’s world-class attractions.

Now on record with Panama’s Tourism Authority, Pedasi proper offers 56 hotel rooms spread across 7 hotels. Los Destiladeros offers 36 rooms across 4 establishments. El Ciruelo maintains 8 rooms between two hotels. And Playa Venao tops the charts with 113 hotel rooms across 7 lodging options. Few would argue that now is a better time than ever to visit Pedasi and see what all the fuss is about.
