The drive to Coronado Panama takes less than an hour from downtown Panama City and is marked by sweeping ocean and mountain views along a newly paved and continuously expanding four lane highway. Most locals stop at least once at famous landmarks like Quesos Chela (make sure to try the chicheme and a pollo or carne empanada) or one of the many Colombian barbeque stands located along the highway between Chorerra and Punto Chame. It is widely acknowledged that the reason Coronado Panama developed faster than any other area along the Pacific coast is because of the infrastructure put in almost sixty years ago by the Eisenmann family. Back then, Coronado Panama was a small oceanfront town and playground for Panama’s rich and famous. Up until the 2006 real estate boom in Panama, Coronado was virtually empty during the week and only filled up over the weekends. Locals would have to bring all of their food and supplies from Panama City because there were precious few shops and restaurants in Coronado.

Today, Coronado Panama has evolved into a true beach community with a robust year round population and a wide and ever expanding offering of shops, restaurants, and other local businesses catering to both weekenders and full time residents. The dining scene in Coronado Panama has expanded exponentially, with new restaurants opening up virtually overnight. Local favorites in the dining scene include Cholos Comida Mexicana, located just outside of Coronado, Café Mayita, and the always packed Don Chachos. Picasso is another local favorite in Coronado, serving up tasty pizzas and Mediterranean cuisine.
The Coronado Panama real estate is as robust and expansive as the town that surrounds it.
