The golf course at Tucan is a lush, tropical, and fairly challenging par 72 course that includes a small restaurant and pro shop. Many of the residents at Tucan play golf at least a few times a week, and they appreciate the proximity to Panama City, which is just over the bridge of the Americas. Another interesting feature is that Tucan is literally right across the highway from Panama Pacifico, a massive development which has an Olympic distance swimming pool, shops, offices, homes, and several state of the art logistics centers, along with free trade status and special economic zoning.
Given the fact that the expanded Panama Canal will be fully operational by 2016, line 3 of the Metro will run near Tucan on the way to Chorrera, and the new bridge over the canal will provide additional access to the area, we believe Tucan will be become a much more relevant and included suburb of Panama City in the very near future. Right now, it’s just a sleepy golf course community on the other side of the bridge, but that day will change soon!
